The state recently notified Newport School District that district scores on the Atlas test given last Spring surpassed the threshold requiring state supervision in Literacy.  The district will no longer require the supervision of the state in regards to ACT 1082.  This is a great accomplishment by our district and our administration, staff, and students are to be commended for their hard work.  The district has been under supervision for the last three years and has worked diligently to improve testing performance in the designated area.  Each campus is striving to improve on the results from last year.  Students surpassed the state average in growth in multiple areas and the district has shown an upward trend in test performance since 2022. The Greyhounds are working very hard to make even more progress on this year’s testing that will be given this Spring.
