Newport High School's Agricultural Science program consists of the following programs of study: Agriculture Power and Technology, Plant Science and Animal Science. In the Agriculture classes students learn skills such as growing plants in the greenhouse, welding, woodworking, and metal working. Students in Agriculture classes also take classes and exams to become OSHA certified. Future Farmers of America (FFA) is the student organization associated with Agriculture classes. Members of FFA are able to do many exciting things such as take field trips and participate in competitions. So far this year members of FFA have traveled to the Arkansas Youth Expo, visited a dairy farm, worked in the greenhouse, built shop projects, experimented with hydroponics, and participated in community service projects!
